I whipped up these easy turkey burgs for dinner and then used the left over patties for breakfast the next day. The breakfast photo is much prettier! Total prep time 10 min, cook time 15 min. Ground turkey can be a fantastic low fat, high protein and versatile option. I usually keep some in the freezer for something easy to whip up.
- Ground turkey
- green onions finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- seasoning salt of your choice
- 1 egg
- Buns of your choice
- Arugula or other greens
- Sliced tomato
- Mushrooms, sliced
- Onions, sliced
- Goat cheese
- coconut oil, olive oil, grape seed oil. whatever fat is best for you 🙂
Mix the ground turkey, bread crumbs, eggs, seasoning, green onions and garlic in bowl and make into patties. I made 4 large patties out of 1 pound ground turkey. Saute the mushrooms and onions on medium low while cooking the burger patties. Flip when cooked half way through and add the goat cheese on top so that it has time to melt slowly. Can cover pan with lid to keep heat in and melt more effectively.
I served with corn on the cob but whatever veggie sounds right to you!
For breakfast, I just heated up the remaining patties added bed of fresh tomato and greens and slapped a farm fresh sunny side up egg on top!
