Flex on fire - benevolence foundation fundraiser

You're INVITED!! Join us Sunday, September 30th for a family friendly, functional fitness and community oriented event for the benefit of the Whatcom Bellingham Benevolence Foundation.  Explore some of the functional fitness options found here in Ferndale and Whatcom County while a live DJ spins the beats so we can stay movin and groovin.  Food trucks items and adult beverages will be available for purchase. Stay, mingle and enjoy as we raffle off some amazing prizes donated by incredible sponsors both locally and nationally. Items such as gym memberships, health and wellness products, automotive detail packages, gift certificates, Vooray Gym Gear, personal training packages and much more.  Your ticket includes pizza by Coconut Kenny’s, bottle of water, participant t shirt,  1 Free Class Pass to Flex Movement Lab. Our community

Firefighters take great pride in their service to the community.  They spend countless hours off the clock volunteering and giving back as much as possible to our community. It is our hope that with this event, we can return that support.

Your support

Join us as we strive to raise 10K for the Benevolence Foundation.  Funds go towards helping the families who have lost their Fire Fighter in the line of duty as well as to support those in need.


Itinerary


12:30pm - Check in, kids get ready for their stations indoors. Adult participants get signed in.


1pm - Opening Ceremony—Performance by the BFD Pipes and Drums band to kick things off right!


1:15pm - Group Mobility warm up– Hosted by Flex Movement Lab owner Ellie Margulies.


1:30-3pm - Adult Circuit  15 minutes each station, 5 minute transition.

  • Bodyweight Power—Hosted by Volunteer Fire Fighter and Tacfit Team Leader Alaina Sawaya
  • RAD Roller SMR Basics (shoulders, back, hips)—Hosted by Ellie Margulies
  • Steel Mace basics—Hosted by Fire Captain and Flex Coach Scott Ryckman
  • Clubbell Mechanics—Hosted by Flex Head Coach Bethany Sanderson
  • Cardio Kick Bag Line—Hosted by WCFC Owner Cain Spaulding

1:30-3pm - Youth Circuit 30 minutes each station, 5 min transition.

  • Kids MMA - Hosted by WCFC Head Coach Tony Garcia
  • Kids Zumba - Hosted by ZigZag and Rags
  • Kids Yoga - Hosted by NW Fold

2:45-3:15pm - Bonus : Timed Challenge!! After everyone has completed all 5 stations, those who wish to participate in the Fit 300 Rep Timed Challenge can test their new skills just learned.  The challenge will consist of one element from each of the previous stations ( ie: 25 mace squats, 25 mountain climbers, 25 jab/hook combos etc)  Winner gets major bragging rights and a special gift!


3pm— Come back together with the whole family for a group cool down and time to learn and enjoy samples from the many vendors such as Enjoy samples of local fitness related products by companies such as: BurnButter, Chike Nutrition, Strong Coffee, Klass Nutrition, Jurasic Snacks, Friendly Foot, Superfeet, Erin Bakers and more.


4:30pm - Closing ceremony and departure.
